Art Retreat

I just discovered that there is an art gallery of sorts near my house.

It is called Art Retreat. Upon google-ing it, I found out that it is actually one of, if not the, first private art museum in Singapore!

Unfortunately its website is still under construction. It is at www.artretreatmuseum.com.

The address to the place:
Art Retreat
Ubi Techpark
Lobby C
#01-45/47
10 Ubi Crescent
Tel no: 6749 0880

They are open daily from 11am - 6pm, save for Mondays, Sundays and public holidays.

Current show on is titled Fashioning Modernity, focusing on 7 Indonesian artists and their impact on Indonesian art. Also, Chinese artist Wu Guangzhong's oil and ink paintings at a separate gallery.

I love contemporary Asian art, and will try my best to go there since it is so near my house, and is free! If you are keen to go and would like some art company, just email me. Otherwise I will make a trip and blog my postmortem here.

[Apologise for the very plain format and no hyperlinks etc. because I only just found out that I can't do that html stuff here when using a Mac or at least, I don't know how. But Mac really makes the blog look very cool typography-wise.]

This gives me an idea, which would be to try and contact as many art places as possible, so that we might get them to give us their event schedules to post here, instead of us having to scrounge around for what's happening and not. Especially since we will right now be limited in knowledge and time for these events. I should be putting that into practice very soon when I have time.

Comments:
Did you eventually visit the place?
